Climb Kilimanjaro Marangu Route

View from Gilman’s Point on Marangu route, Kilimanjaro.

Marangu route is a classic, well established Kilimanjaro trekking route that continues to be a popular choice to summit Kilimanjaro. The relative comfort of sleeping in huts is especially welcoming for climbing Kilimanjaro in the rainy season (March to May and November).

The route is a gradual ascent on well maintained tracks. On the final summit ascent there is a steep zigzag trail up to Gilman’s Point. Marangu route then flattens out on the crater rim, finishing with an easy, gradual ascent to the summit of Uhuru Peak.

The ascent and descent to Marangu gate is on the same Kilimanjaro trekking route which can result in a higher volume of traffic at busy times.

Arrive into Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to Moshi hotel for overnight. (Airport transfer and dinner not included.)
